About the Cognitive Styles Quiz

Why I Created This

When the "shape rotator" versus "wordcel" discussion took over Twitter, I found myself in a peculiar position. Neither category felt right for me, and there was a good reason for that.

You see, I have no inner monologue. Words don't flow through my mind the way they do for wordcels. And I have aphantasia – I literally cannot visualize shapes in my head. So shape rotation? Not my strong suit either.

Aphantasia: The inability to form mental images in your mind

But does that mean I'm not creative? That I can't write or engineer? Absolutely not.

What I discovered is that I operate primarily through vibes – intuitive understanding, pattern recognition, and feeling my way through problems and solutions. I'm what you might call a vibecel.

Beyond the Dichotomy

The frameworks we create to understand ourselves are rarely sufficient to capture the full complexity of human cognition. The wordcel/shape rotator dichotomy, while useful for many, leaves out people like me – and perhaps like you.

As I've embraced my vibecel nature, I've found the recent AI tools to be an absolute game-changer. Products like Claude and Cursor feel like they were designed specifically for the way my brain works – like a gift that finally enables me to translate my vibes into tangible output.

I want to emphasize that no cognitive style is inherently better than others. Each has its strengths and ideal applications.
